We are looking for a communicator with at least three to five years experience to join our growing department as a Marketing & Communications Coordinator at our Home Office in Surrey, BC. You possess outstanding writing skills, and you know how to quickly edit copy to make it appropriate for a newsletter, website, blog, executive memo or a tweet. You also take great pictures, know how to shoot and edit short videos, and your attention to detail is second to none.
The Marketing & Communications Coordinator will report to the Marketing & Communications Manager, but on a daily basis will work closely with many team members. You will take initiative on story ideas, edit and produce various internal and external communication materials, contribute to communication plans and help execute events. You will also ensure the application of our editorial and graphic standards to ensure consistency across all platforms. Additionally you will create and manage content on our website and future social media channels, manage our media content, and proactively suggest new ways to get the word out to customers, staff and suppliers, about the great work happening.

Duties and responsibilities:


Act as editor of our triannual e-newsletter for staff, from gathering, writing, and editing content, to final distribution.

Produce text, image and video content for all employee-facing and external digital platforms in collaboration with broader Marketing & Communications and HR teams.

Seek out opportunities to help maintain organizational reputation online by working with team members to create and/or re-purpose content for websites and social media networks.

Provide support for the development, maintenance and organization of various digital tools such as media room, branded materials portal

Ensure visual brand consistency across communications channels and provide logos and other branding tools across the company and to supply partners.

Prepare, edit, and proofread announcements, presentations, brochures, publications, reports, and other related marketing and communications material.

Collaborate with Merchandise Coordinator to design and order promo merchandise and bulk clothing buys.

Contribute to the research and development of company intranet and social media platforms.

Support other departments and branches with material and document design.

Work with the Marketing Team to plan and execute corporate and customer events, including annual sales meetings, golf events, and employee recognition programs.

Participate on committees and in meetings as needed to provide support and contribute to strategic communications planning or implementation.

Liaise and negotiate with department contractors and suppliers.

Perform other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications & Expertise:


Completion of a university degree in a related field such as communications, journalism or marketing/advertising or an equivalent combination of education and experience in organizational marketing and communications.

Exceptional writing and editing skills, with exemplary attention to grammar, style, consistency and detail.

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suites and Microsoft office.

Ability to work effectively both independently, with individuals, and teams in a wide variety of settings, applying interpersonal skills and taking a problem-solving approach.

Capacity to handle highly confidential and sensitive issues with skill, tact and diplomacy and to act with a high degree of ethical and professional behaviour.

Excellent organizational, project management and time management skills including the ability to prioritize multiple projects and work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines.

Social media proficiency.

Knowledge of written and spoken French is not required but would be a strong asset.
